St Peter’s offers services for weddings, baptisms and funerals and other special occasions including renewal of marriage vows ( …view our current Scale of Charges ).
“Marriage is a gift of God in creation through which husband and wife may know the grace of God.
It is given that as man and woman grow together in love and trust,
they shall be united with one another in heart, body and mind,
as Christ is united with his bride, the Church”.
St Peter’s Church provides a stunning location for your special day (click the image to enlarge). Although relatively small our historic church can seat up to 200 guests.
Our minister would be pleased to discuss the order and form of words of the service with you.
We can provide music, flowers and offer advice on many other issues to ensure the service meets your individual requirements and proceeds as smoothly as possible.
Baptism is by sign of the cross on the forehead, which reminds us of Christ’s death for us and pouring of water where we die to sin and are raised to new life, being born of water and the Spirit, uniting us with the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour.
Our baptism service for young ones, and more mature persons who have come to faith in Christ Jesus later in life, provide a welcome into the Christian family.
The service can be held for family only or in our main service. We do urge you to consider the baptism as part of our main service where the congregation join together with parents and godparents and offer support and prayers for the future.

A Christian Funeral is a time when we pause before the mystery of life and death. Funerals are an expression of faith in our salvation, resurrection and eternal life. As such, we come to worship God and rejoice in the new life he has given us beyond death. We also gather to thank God for the gift given to us in the person of the deceased.
At such a delicate time we assure you of our best for your loved one, whether the service is to be followed by burial or cremation.
Hear the word of our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus:
“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”. John 11 v 25
and the comfortable words of St Paul:
“ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words”. 1 Thessalonians 4 vs 14-18
