Fordcombe's village church

About our services

St Peter’s church is a place of sanctuary for all seeking respite from the burdens and pressures of busy lives.

If you are a resident in our parishes, new to Fordcombe or just visiting; all are equally and most warmly welcome. If you have a young family please don’t miss out on a blessing; we have a seating area to the rear of the church with a box of toys to cater for young ones if they become a little restless.

Forms of Service

We praise and worship with thanksgiving God, our Father; His beloved Son, our Lord and our Saviour Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, our Comforter and seal.

Mainly liturgical in form our regular services follow the order set out in our service booklets. Firmly based on Holy Scripture and sound doctrine we follow the Common Worship pattern laid down in the Church of England lectionary. Our services are none the less beautiful and fresh when approached in a spirit of reflection and words spoken with understanding and meaning.
